Several owners of land located on the area of Cotopaxi National Park, Antisana Ecological Reserve, Llanganates National Park and Pasochoa Wildlife Refuge concerned with the conservation of andean ecosystems, mainly of one of the most fragile as the paramo, decided to form an organization that contributes to preserve biodiversity and cultural wealth through sustainable projects, in a joint effort with the people of the localities.

Thus, Paramo Foundation protects about 75,000 has, of its members:
